BLDG Awarded Creative Community Grant
July 6, 2015
The Center for Great Neighborhoods just announced BLDG as one of their Creative Community grant recipients!
Over the next few months, BLDG will design and paint a new “Welcome to the Westside – Bicentennial Mural” that will depict an inviting, celebratory message for residents and visitors. The artwork will share a positive message while simultaneously placing the neighborhood within a significant historical context. During the process we’ll invite the community to vote on their favorite design. Once completed, we’ll dedicate the mural with a BLDG-style celebration.
The project will be conducted within the Westside Neighborhood boundaries at the Southeast corner of Martin Luther King Blvd. and James Simpson Way on the Flannery Paint building.
We’d like to thank the Center for Great Neighborhoods for their innovative creative place-making program and the Kresge Foundation for providing the funds to support it. Covington a great place to be creative!
