Great American Art Hack

November 3, 2014

This weekend, BLDG spent some time in Louisville at the Great American Art Hack. We were invited to help create an art exhibit from scratch by deconstructing GE appliances. See the photos below for a look into the process. Those pieces hanging from the ceiling are drums from a GE washer!

Sponsored by BLDG, FirstBuild, IDEAS 40203, and Metro Louisville Commission on Public Art, the Great American Art Hack is an experimental approach to exhibition dedicated to hackers whose medium is art, engineering and industrial design. The Great American Art Hack combines an invitational hackathon with an art exhibition. It will demonstrate the expressive potential of new technology and the exponential power of radical collaboration in art.
