The Spirit of Progress
July 28, 2014
Anyone who deals closely with BLDG knows all about our community involvement and close ties to our city of Covington. The River City News just released an article pointing out 18 projects that are reshaping the landscape of our city and while we can’t stake claim in all the projects, our fingerprints can be seen all over the list.
Our commitments to Covington’s Bicentennial (full case study coming soon), UpTech, and startups across the city are an obvious fit for a design firm to influence a city, but it’s also nice to see our public art and self-initiated projects starting to make a difference in the community as well.
Even though it’s close to home (well, it IS home to us), we’re witnessing how leadership in art and design can be a catalyst for so much more than attracting consumers to a product or service. The arts can be an integral cog in making cities a desirable place to live, work, and play. As Covington continues to develop, we’ll be working in a living testimony for the importance of our profession. Kudos to our city!
